Rolling Stone reports that a ten-song album filled with never-before-heard Michael Jackson songs is due out in November via Sony. It is not yet known which Jackson era the songs are from-- the late singer's manager told Rolling Stone there are "more than 100 completed and unreleased songs" in existence, including relatively recent collaborations with Akon, Will.i.am and Ne-Yo as well as tracks left off classic albums like Thriller and Bad. The album is the first of 10 forthcoming projects as part of a $250 million dollar deal with Sony that includes reissues, a greatest hits, and a DVD.

Animal Collective’s Avey Tare to Release First Solo Album
The yelping member of Animal Collective, Avey Tare aka Dave Portner, is coming out with a solo album called Down There on October 26 via AnCo's own Paw Tracks imprint. The nine-song record is his first totally solo affair and was recorded by AnCo member Josh Dibb aka Deakin.
According to a press release, Avey's "favorite animals are the otter and crocodile [and] the latter has played a big role in his newest record.?" I guess that explains the swampy promo pic above and the album's cover, which you can view along with the album's tracklist after the jump:
Latest Daft Punk Leaks Are Fake, Too
Perhaps you've seen this YouTube channel allegedly streaming the entire Daft Punk Tron Legacy soundtrack. Well, like several other impostors before it, this newest "leak" is also a fake, according to Daft Punk's camp.

You might've heard that NYC gloom merchants Interpol have a new, self-titled record coming out September 7 via Matador. You also might've grabbed the album's second "single", "Barricade", when it hit iTunes a while back. Well, Interpol played "Barricade" on the "Late Show With David Letterman" last night, so a lot more people have heard that song now.
Watch: of Montreal and Solange Perform “Sex Karma” on “Jimmy Fallon”

"You look like a playground to me, player," sings of Montreal front man Kevin Barnes to duet partner Solange Knowles on the laid-back, Mayfield-inspired new track "Sex Karma". (Think: New Radicals.) The band's performance of the track on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" last night was characteristically goofy-- they all wore white face paint and a few non-playing mimes even had a milk party in the middle of the stage. Meanwhile, Barnes wore a Genesis-era Peter Gabriel get-up and looked endearingly awkward next to a natural-like Solange. They also did the less funky, previously released new one "Coquet Coquette" with a couple gas-mask-wearing sword fighters in a performance for the Fallon website. Watch it all below.
False Priest is out September 14 in North America on Polyvinyl (September 13 in Europe).
Fennesz Plots North American Tour
This September, Christmas is going to come a little bit early for fans of pretty-sounding electronic textures and gentle noise, as Austrian electronic composer Christian Fennesz will hit North American shores for a month-long tour. Fennesz is scheduled to perform a string of U.S. and Canadian dates after some scheduled European festival appearances throughout August. The tour covers mostly major cities, so, sorry, Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Maybe next year. Check out the tour dates below.
